It is a skills-based matching platform, to connect professional volunteers with non-profits looking for help to support their day-to-day operations.

Non-profits need help with their day-to-day operations to fulfill their mission. When they have an open assignment, they post a project on the Marketplace to find a volunteer. Volunteers can search for projects matching their skillset and interests and apply. Non-profits select the most suitable volunteer to work with.

Yes, it is a free service for both the volunteer and the non-profit. Copalana Volunteering is supported entirely by our sponsors.

There are three parties present on our platform:

Volunteers who want to offer their expertise to do good and develop new skills and leadership capabilities.

Non-Profits who need professional help to support their efforts.

Sponsors who want to collaborate with non-profits to make the world a better place and offer their employees job-enriching volunteering opportunities.

Visit the Marketplace and find a project that matches your skills and interests. On the project page click on “Apply”. Go through the application wizard and submit it to the non-profit.

Projects are posted for application on a rolling basis. If there are currently no projects that match your search criteria, please check back again soon.

You will be informed via email about the non-profit’s decision regarding your application. Alternatively, you can monitor the application status on your Dashboard.

A virtual project takes place digitally, without having to physically be present at the non-profit’s location.

An on location project requires you to be physically work at the same location as the non-profit. The arrangements for travel and accommodations are listed on the project page

This is up to the non-profit. When you apply, they will receive your contact information and may get in touch with you for further steps.

You have to register as a non-profit on Copalana Volunteering (“Join Us” button at the top right), then select “Register as a Non-Profit”. This will create a non-profit user account, allow you to post projects and give you access to your NPO Dashboard to monitor projects and applications.

You can post a project by navigating to the post project page. There are two ways to post a project:

You can either start a new project or select an existing template. If you wish to work with a template, open it and click on "Customize". This allows you to adapt the template to your specific needs.

Login to your NPO Dashboard and select the tab “Volunteers”. Filter for status “Applied” and the project that you wish to see applications for.

It’s possible to edit application, start and end dates of your project. All other information can’t be edited, because once a project is forwarded to our sponsors for review, they individually decide if they want to release it to their employees. A change in the project's description could impact the sponsors review decision.
